Noticing Vol. 3

Wanderings from this past week include a trip to History Colorado Center, our toddlers’ current favorite museum, and Matter’s annual party.

Light streaming through an 120 year old window is reflected on a wall. The pattern resembles light being reflected on water.

The condo we live in was built in 1906. Most of the windows are original. In the early morning, we often get light reflecting off skyscrapers and bouncing into our living room leaving these wonderful displays. In photographs, it looks like a reflection from water. Yet, unlike water reflections, it is unmoving in real life.

Tipi and Colorado State Flag, a complicated juxtaposition, at the History Colorado Center. Currently on view is the Sand Creek Massacre exhibit. Told from the perspectives of Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal representatives.

User Experience design from decades ago. Inlaid colored concrete to encourage folks walking on Colfax towards an entrance. I love the subtle beauty of this.

Stamps on work table at Matter Print Shop in Denver Colorado. One stamp says "Metropolitan Printing Co. Dept 10 No. 37". The second stamp says "Wood Goods Steel - Iron Top Number 13469 - Hamilton Manufacturing - Main Office and Factory Two Rivers Wis

I had an absolutely lovely time at Matter’s annual party. It is always a pleasure visiting. If you are in Denver be sure to stop the shop!
